i broga-ed myself

Image
broga hill, 20th January 2011. somewhere in the middle of jungle 1 hour from subang, there are hundreds of people rushing their way 4am to climb the broga hill. i was tricked into this adventure, not knowing anything about the broga hill. it was a trekking site and for your info, i'm not friends with jungle let alone trekking. different kind of adventure and experience to climb your way up to the top. one way to burn off your calories and exercise your mental strength. most of the time i wanted to give up, but it was the talk i had with my brain that kept me going. otherwise, i would have given up and waited somewhere in the jungle happily with my cigarettes. apart from the torturous journey i had, the view and company was awesome. the transition from night to day was weird but great. everyone should try and experience it once in their life time. glad to say that i've done that and i will never ever climb broga hill again. sekian, terima kasih.

january twothousandeleven: past 21 days has been awesome! despite the crazy workload i have, other parts of my life is starting to get better. favourite cousin is happily pregnant and i can't wait for her to deliver. breakfast with mum, dad, sister and brother at our usual roti canai hangout. weekly outing with the girls, wondermilkers, newly weds has been adventurous. tried out new places to chill. plan b, bangsar for dinner. the pesto was alright. i can do better. hahaha! g3 chocolate dessert is crazy! the best in town. nirwana, yong tau foo, and pappa rich the usual routine. nothing has changed, not even my appetite for banana leaf, wantan and white coffee. new addition this year would be the weekly visit to gold chilli. it has been there since forever but i don't think i've been there as often as i did these past few weeks. the boys i went to Penang with, my mum call them "the bodyguards". they seem to be addicted to gold chilli. catching up for dinner with my...

wlm balance?

food i've been eating for the past week i love coffee! work-life-marriage balance? i wonder how my mom managed to work, have a life with her friends and be married for 27 years? from my (probably biased) observation, women are either: 1. successful in their career but no life and not married 2. successful in their career but have a life and divorced 3. successful in their career but have a life and single 4. not that successful in their career, have a life and happily married i am neither in those category. but in the next 5 years, where will i be? lately, colleagues have been coming up to me to share their domestic issues which i'll lend my fat shoulder to them all they want is someone to just listen of course i have no position to give advise given my status as someone who is single and hopeless in relationship partly because i gave up in understanding how opposite sex works i can barely understand myself, let alone to understand a totally opposite human being my point is, mo...

testing testing! mic check 12 12 oppss! teehee.. using my new toy to blog. so just ignore me for a bit.. blogging with tab is no fun. anyway, its been 11 days since new year and i have not crafted my new year's resolution. not that i care or obsessed in achieving my goals but i just feel it is somehow a personal achievement if i get to strikethrough my resolution for this year. i figured out my new year's resolution while i was driving to work. some of the things i look forward to in two thousand eleven: 1. get myself closer to God. afterall, everything happens is written. i am grateful of what that was given from Him. the least i can do is obey Him. 2. of course, travel around the world. will start off with neighbouring country, then to places i've always wanted to go but never had the time or money. 3. open my boxy and paranoid mind be more friendly and helpful to other people 4. work-life balance. blurgh! i know i know. i've been working hard like a mad dog. i know i...

twenty eleven

Image
i'm taking a break from what i call work. been running around for the past 8 hours and now i can finally pause, but i have no idea what to write. oh, happy new year everyone! celebrated my twenty eleven in Penang. random road trip with bunch of random people from my cyberlife. the last time i hang out with them was probably in 2005 or 2006. after i finished my degree, we all went separate ways. occasionally catch up and meet up for dinner or coffee. then we would do our own thing for few months, then meet up again. so, a week before new year's eve we went out for dinner then randomly mentioned that we should hang out for new year's eve didn't know they were referring to hanging out in Penang. planned everything probably 3 days before new year's eve, and Friday we hit the road. that was how we came about celebrating twenty eleven in Penang. Penang was nice, as usual. food was okay, could have done better. disappointed cos i didn't get to eat nasi kandar beratur ...

twenty ten has been quite a roller coaster ride. there were times where i was up in the air happy and free, and there were times where i just wanna sink to the deep ocean. most of the time, i just wanna sink and not float back to reality. as much as i look forward to twenty eleven, twenty ten flies in a blink of an eye. my twenty ten started off good with trip to Johor and Singapore. then it got better, i learned to cook roast chicken, went to Melaka with the girls, weddings, birthday parties, trip to Melaka again, business trip to Korea, Hassan was born, diving trip to Perhentian and Cebu Island, and many more good memories i had with the girls and family to remember. in between all that... some things i wish it never happened. i lost my bestfriend of 10 years, lost my tonsil, my excess skin in my nose, lost my luggage to some stupid thief, lost my favorite cigarette pouch, lost my Christmas gift, send off my bestfriend to Melbourne. twenty ten is definitely not my year. 16 hours fro...

just jump!

4 more days to the end of 2010. so many things happened this year that i can't even remember anymore, or choose not to remember. this year has definitely not been my year. although i managed to tick most of my resolution that i made early of this year, there were so many challenges that came along the way. i almost gave up and wanted to waive the white flag. i somehow managed to overcome it with a little bit of luck and a lot of praying to God. it's not how bad your fall and hurt yourself, it's how brave and strong you are to carry yourself back up and move forward. (cheh cheh, i think i copied from a website) just like bungy jumping, which i was crazy enough to do. once you're up there at 21m, you just have to be brave and jump. whatever happens next, happens. whether half of your body gets dipped in the pond water (ewww, yucks!) or your head spins like a washing machine on tumble dry mode you have to face it and give credit to yourself that you did it. im very hap...

ho ho ho!

like many years before, 1st January is the day where i'll start my new resolution. for this year, let's flashback to Friday, 1st January entry. 2010 has finally arrived. This year's resolution: 1. Spend more time with Umi & Ayahnda 2. Spend more time with the girls instead of work. (except for the past 2 months) 3. Pray more often. 4. Send my car for service on time. 5. Send my car to spa everything 3 months. (except for the last 3 months) 6. Eat healthy food. (at times!) 7. Become a good employee and not ponteng work. didn't take medical leave since April. 8. Travel at least 1 international & 3 domestic destination. Singapore, Philippines, Melaka, Johor and Pulau Perhentian 9. Scuba dive at least 3 destination. hahahah! Philippines and Pulau Perhentian 10. Read more books. 11. Buy a house :) so, the only item i'm going to carry forward is to buy a house. i almost bought a house but realised i didn't want to settle down at Shah Alam. i might just b...

long overdue post. last month me and my dive buddy, amoi went to cebu island for my closing 2010 diving trip. not knowing anything about that island, we followed eric's schedule and plan. cebu pacific air was alright. wasn't what i expected, maybe because i was expecting the stewardess to dance through the safety procedure briefing (saw that on youtube) pre-traveling has always been my least favourite part. the mess you have to go through before getting to the fun part. blurgghh! messy and horrible. once we got on the island, everything falls into places. the diving was superfun! accommodation was pretty scary and basic. after all, we only paid less than $10 per day. diving with turtle was the highlight of the trip. of course i enjoyed taking pictures of the lionfish, nudis and others but never that i imagined i would be swimming 10m underwater with a turtle. mandarin fish was also part of the great experience. it's not always that we get to see mandarin fish because the...
